What the Reel is

The Reel gathers and presents community information: events, public notices, weather, road conditions, obituary listings, and similar. Much of it is aggregated from public sources, which are credited. The rest comes from residents and organizations who submit it, reviewed by the operator before publication.

Accuracy, and its limits

We work to keep information current and correct, but we aggregate from sources we do not control, and details change. Always confirm time-sensitive details (event times, closures, service hours) with the original source before acting on them.

The Reel is not an emergency service. Weather, road, and alert information is a convenience summary, not a safety system. In an emergency call 911; for authoritative alerts rely on official channels.

To the extent the law allows, the Reel and its operator are not liable for losses arising from reliance on information presented here. The service is provided as is, without warranty.

Corrections and takedowns

We want errors fixed and we respect the sources we draw from.

• Something is wrong: use the contact form and choose "correction", or email info@antigonishreel.ca. Tell us what is wrong and, if you can, point to the right information. We review every correction request.
• Content about you: if aggregated content concerns you personally and you want it removed, choose "privacy" on the contact form or email us. See also our Privacy Policy.
• You own or publish a source: if the Reel indexes or summarizes your content and you want attribution changed, the listing amended, or your source removed from our coverage, email us. We honour source-removal requests.
• Obituary listings: every entry carries its own "request removal" link. Requests from family or the funeral home are handled with priority and discretion.

We aim to act on takedown and correction requests within a few days, and faster when the matter is sensitive.

Submitting content

When you submit an event, question, or message you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it is accurate to your knowledge. By submitting content intended for publication (such as an event listing) you give the Reel permission to publish, edit for format and clarity, and archive it. Submissions are moderated; we may decline or remove anything, and we do not publish unlawful, misleading, or abusive content.

Do not use the forms to spam, harass, impersonate, or probe the site. Automated abuse is rate-limited and logged.

Intellectual property

The Reel's own design, code, and original text belong to the operator. Facts are nobody's property, and content drawn from public sources remains its publishers'. Credited source links are part of how the Reel works; if you republish something found here, credit the original source, not us.

Changes and contact

These terms may change; the current version is always at this page with its effective date. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
