SiRT Investigating Fatality Following Police Involved Pursuit

The Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a police pursuit in Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia. Following the pursuit, there was a single vehicle collision that resulted in the death of the driver.

The Serious Incident Response Team is investigating a police pursuit in Havre Boucher, Nova Scotia. Following the pursuit, there was a single vehicle collision that resulted in the death of the driver.

Preliminary information suggests:

  • On the night of July 18, 2026 a member of the RCMP attempted to pull over a vehicle on Cape Jack Road.
  • The driver of the vehicle did not comply and fled police.
  • While fleeing from Police, the vehicle went off the road and crashed.
  • The driver of the vehicle was an adult male who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
