Notice of Adoption

(September 3, 2026) – PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT on May 26th, 2026, the Council of the Municipality of the County of Antigonish adopted amendments to the Plan Antigonish Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw, which are in effect as of the date of this publication:

Amendments to the Plan Antigonish Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law for the Municipality of the County of Antigonish in response to new Provincial setback requirements for Utility Scale Wind Turbines and in response to an appeal before the Nova Scotia Regulatory and Appeals Board.

These amendments were approved by the Minister of Municipal Affairs with amendments, August 28, 2026.

Copies of the staff report (including amendments) providing more detailed information on the amendments, as well as the ministerial amendments can be inspected at the office of the Eastern District Planning Commission, 606 Reeves Street, Unit 3, Port Hawkesbury between the hours of 8:30am and 4:30pm weekdays (excluding statutory holidays) or at www.edpc.ca or by contacting Toll-Free 1-888-625-5361.
