We are Hiring – Director of Public works (May 26, 2026) – The Municipality of the County of Antigonish is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as Director of Public Works. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing infrastructure projects, managing day-to-day operations, and supporting long-term planning to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality services for our community.

Position Summary:

The Director of Public Works provides leadership and oversight for the Municipality’s Public Works Department, ensuring efficient delivery of services and infrastructure projects. As part of the senior leadership team, the role focuses on strategic planning, capital project management, budgeting, and maintaining high standards for safety, compliance, and customer service.

The successful candidate will also provide leadership in occupational health and safety, workforce development, and continuous improvement initiatives that support service excellence across the Municipality.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and solutions-oriented leader with experience in municipal operations, public works, or infrastructure services.
