AUG 15 SAT

Visual Blackout Poetry Free Workshop

1pm–3pm Antigonish Public Library Bistro

Come out for an all-ages, fun-filled workshop to learn how to make recycled poetry and art! Through a combination of collage and drawing you will create unique pieces of written and visual creativity.

Local author, Melissa Kuipers, will guide us through the process of selecting words from a book page to create new meaning, then overlay the page with collage and drawing to enhance and create a one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary art piece.

Blackout poetry is a form of writing that takes the words from pre-existing texts and literally "blacks out" words and phrases to make poetry from the remaining words.

Supplies like old books and decorations will be provided. However you are invited to bring your old magazines and other collage supplies that you'd like to use.

The workshop will take place Saturday, August 15th from 1-3pm in the Antigonish Public Library bistro (the area facing Main Street).

Looking forward to creating with you!
